The Nurse Educator plans and provides training in an in-person and on occasion in a virtual classroom setting, informing students of standard best practices and laws surrounding specialized aide and nursing skills. Responsible for supervising students in the application of theoretical knowledge in a hands-on and virtual clinical setting. Facilitates education of external employees to promote competency and optimal staffing of clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
- Assigns training in the Learning Management System and provides related instruction and supervises employees.
- Prepares, administers, and grades applicable tests.
- Documents employees’ progress and completes required forms or reports in their entirety.
- Prepares and submits a course of study, including program objectives, student performance objectives, and lesson plans.
- Conducts training in accordance with all regulations and company policies.
- Assists, as requested, in the creation and execution of all product training programs and activities.
- Assists, as requested, in the creation and revision of all supportive product training materials and resources.
- Collaborates with individual office personnel to promote optimal staffing of clients after competency of employees.
- Reviews client clinical records to assist in knowledge of the client base of individual offices.
- Performs other duties as assigned in a professional matter.
- Position is stressful in terms of meeting deadlines in a complex and dynamic teaching environment.
- On occasion, may be required to bend, stoop, reach, and move clients, as well as lift and carry more than 50 pounds.
- Some flexibility with schedule.
- Travel is required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (in good standing) in the state of practice, compact state license preferred.
- Associate or Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
- Must have 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse (RN); a minimum of 1 year of that experience must be in home care or related setting.
- Previous experience in educating staff, clients, and/or community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as public speaking before large and small groups.
- Extensive knowledge of DME equipment.
